Water, Water, Water
Your new plantings will need an inch of water per week for the FIRST YEAR.
IF YOU FAIL TO WATER YOUR PLANTS, THEY WILL DIE
- Weeks 1-2: Water EVERY day.
- Weeks 3-4: Water EVERY OTHER day.
WATERING INSTRUCTIONS:
*The best time to water is early in the morning, between 6 AM and 10 AM.
*Set your nozzle to the Shower mode:
- Non-woody plants: Water for 5 seconds per plant.
- Woody plants: Water for 15 seconds per plant.
- Trees: Water for 30 seconds per tree.
After the Initial Month of Watering is completed above, continue watering:
SPRING : Water 3 times minimum per week. (if it does not rain)
SUMMER : When it’s hot, water daily. If temperatures exceed 83°F, water twice a day.
FALL : Water 3 times per week (if it doesn’t rain) until the leaves fall off.
Check All Plants Weekly
Check newly planted trees and shrubs every few days for the first two weeks. Annuals and perennials need more frequent checks. After two weeks, check every 7-10 days. If you notice anything unusual like spots, insect damage, or chewed leaves, let us know. We can suggest what to buy or come by to fix the issue for an additional cost.
The first year of watering is ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL to your plants survival before becoming established.
Graceland Gardens assumes no liability for replacement of plants killed or damaged by pests, insect infestation, abnormal weather conditions, or other conditions beyond our control , nor will we replace plants experiencing “seasonal die-back”, when pruning and proper care will restore them to health. All plants installed with irrigation receive a 1 year warranty on the plants.
